Italian Suspect Nabbed at Barcelona Airport for Alleged Murder of Roommates in Italy
An Italian national was apprehended on Monday at Barcelona's airport, accused of the double homicide involving his roommates in Bologna, local media reports. The Spanish National Police confirmed the arrest, citing the suspect's alleged involvement in the crime, but withheld further details.
The suspect, a 48-year-old Italian born in Venezuela, has been sought by authorities since Monday morning, according to Italian sources. The police believe he is responsible for the deaths of two men, Luca Monaldo, 54, and Luca Gombi, 50, who he had lived with since October in Bologna. Both men were viciously stabbed.
Monaldo was found with his throat slit, while Gombi suffered a severe abdominal wound, as disclosed by the same sources. The Bologna Prosecutor’s Office, overseeing the investigation, demands the immediate return of the suspect to Italy.
