Inclusive Football Triumphs: Champions Crowned in LaLiga Genuine Moeve's Seventh Season
The 2024/2025 season of LaLiga Genuine Moeve culminated in an exhilarating finale hosted in Bilbao, bringing together over 1,000 participants, including players and technical staff, in a showcase of unity and sportsmanship. This gathering, hosted by Athletic Club, featured 47 clubs that have been part of this inclusive project championed by LaLiga's Foundation for over seven years.
From May 31 to June 1, Lezama's facilities became the center of the world's most inclusive football, hosting the final 66 matches of a season that reaffirmed the league's unique appeal. The grand finale on Sunday revealed the champions of this seventh edition: Fundació Barça triumphed in the Respect Group, while Villarreal CF excelled in the Companionship Group. The Fair Play trophy was jointly awarded to Burgos CF and Málaga CF.
The event was graced by Nerea Ortiz, Vice President of Athletic Club, José Ángel Iribar, Honorary President of Athletic Club, and Clemente Valverde, President of the LaLiga Foundation. Ortiz praised the values upheld by the Basque team, stating, "This weekend clearly demonstrated the values we promote in our club." Iribar expressed pride and emotion in witnessing the participants' efforts. Valverde reflected on the season's achievements, thanking all host clubs for embracing the initiative's essence and fostering an environment of respect and values.
After visiting six venues—Tarragona, Valencia, A Coruña, Vila-real, Burgos, and Bilbao—and playing over 270 matches throughout the year, the league concludes another season of the world's most inclusive football. Once again, the Genuine spirit has left its mark, reminding us that football transcends being just a sport; it is a potent tool for social transformation that highlights companionship, sportsmanship, and friendship, without sacrificing the passion and excitement of competition.
