Digital Transactions and Coded Labels: Unveiling Madrid's Drug Network Shutdown

Jun 2, 2025, 14:22

In a remarkable move against drug trafficking, Madrid witnessed the dismantling of nine sophisticated drug-selling points within just 24 hours. These operations had evolved to accommodate digital transactions, allowing clients to pay with card and Bizum at a notorious narcopiso in Leganés, Madrid. The dealers employed advanced tools to verify and count cash, drawing clientele from across the region. This crackdown by the National Police targeted a network deeply embedded in the fabric of community life, often lurking just beyond neighbors' doors.

The criminal organization orchestrating the Leganés narcopiso had expanded its operations to two additional sites in the same municipality and another in Getafe. When cornered by law enforcement, members resorted to discarding drugs and cash through windows. Their methodical approach included hiding narcotics in shoe boxes, mobile phones, and furniture, with some drugs labeled in bags as "pechuga de pavo," among other coded names, according to police reports.

Further investigations led to Parla, where drug sales were conducted under strict appointment-only protocols. Transactions took place discreetly near the premises, with the seller boasting expertise in evading detection and operating from dawn till dusk. His inventory spanned across cocaine, hashish, and marijuana, accompanied by tools for precise dosing, a stolen mobile device, and over 1,800 euros in cash.

In Puente de Vallecas, authorities apprehended a couple selling drugs in the presence of their young children, alarmingly close to three schools and a playground. The premises yielded cocaine and several large knives. Nearby in Villa de Vallecas, a slow-moving vehicle drew police suspicion; a search by canine units revealed two kilograms of cocaine in the glove compartment.

The operation concluded with the dismantling of two drug dens in Usera, where heroin and other substances were sold. Three individuals were arrested, possessing bladed weapons and a brass knuckle, further underscoring the threatening nature of these illicit enterprises.
