Tragic Fall Claims Life of Teen in Valencia's Entertainment Hub
A young 16-year-old lost his life following a fall in the early hours between Friday and Saturday from a wall approximately four meters high at Valencia's La Marina entertainment area. This incident was reported by the Emergency Information and Coordination Center (CICU) and confirmed by the National Police.
The emergency call was received by CICU at around 00:20 hours, prompting the dispatch of a SAMU ambulance. The medical team provided initial treatment for a traumatic brain injury. Subsequently, the teen was transported to the Hospital Clínico de Valencia, where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to the National Police, preliminary investigations suggest that the teen's fall was accidental. The incident took place at a well-known entertainment spot near the iconic Veles e Vents building at the Marina del Puerto de Valencia. The teenager was with friends, seated on a wall that stretches across much of the area, initially constructed for the 2007 America's Cup in Valencia. He inadvertently fell backward and sustained a head injury, as reported by Las Provincias.
The tragic death has deeply affected the Maristas Sagrado Corazón School, where the teen was a student. The religious institution expressed their condolences through social media, lamenting "the sad news of the passing of our beloved student" on Instagram.
